10 Essential HR General Blogs
Last week I’ve started a series of posts where I will showcase some of the main sources of reading and inspiration. After looking at the resources on Organisation Design, here is my list of HR blogs. These are blogs that focus on the wide topic of HR and People Management in general (I will focus on more specialised blogs in the future).
These blogs are those that have provided more food for thought over the past years. Again, the listing is in casual random order.
One of the most knows analysts of the HR Market, Josh Bersin has consolidated his blog presence after leaving Bersin by Deloitte, and now focuses on topics that are more transversal to the HR profession than only technology (although this stays as a key focus area of his analysis).
Some Notable Articles:
The HR Bartender is a longstanding blog managed by Sharlyn Lauby. Winner of many awards, it keeps truth to its original mission to provide a discussion platform on workplace related trends, thus with a broad scope over HR topics.
Some Notable Articles:
The Evil HR Lady is a blog born from the assumption that All HR people are evil, it’s in our job description. Or at least, that seems to be the prevailing theory. Written by Suzanne Lucas out of Basel, it constantly portrays a strong opinion on the world of HR and its backstage.
Some Notable Articles:
Everyday People is the blog of Steve Brown, and features about 2 weekly posts covering several HR topics. Always acute in his remarks, radical in thougts, with a touch of humor, also manages an extensive blogroll of HR sources.
Some Notable Articles:
Created by Meghan Biro, TalentCulture is a blog that hosts different guest contributors and focuses on workplace culture and talent. Often articles cover HR technology. Also portrays the #wortrend poidcast series.
Some Notable Articles:
Women of HR is a site dedicated to the development of women in Human Resources and business. When i first found this blog, I was a bit puzzled: after all HR is one of the professions with highest presence of women. But most of our experience will for sure confirm that this doesn’t mean that equality has been reached. Plus the blog features some very interestizng points of view on many HR topics.
Some Notable Articles:
The HR Capitalist is one of the two blogs created by Kris Dunn (the other being Fistful of Talent). In this blog the author focuses on recent HR trends, always with strong opinions and a good sense of realism, offering true food for thought.
Some Notable Articles:
HR Gazette is an online blog featuring guest articles on topics related to HR, Leadership, HR Technologies and Ways of Working. Thanks to a variegated range of contributors, there’s often some very good piece of thought on many of the topics covered. It also features the HRChat Podcast.
Some Notable Articles:
Workology is a blog initiated by Jessica Miller-Merrell, and that today features a lot of focused HR content covering a wide spectrum of topics. It tends to offer many quick tools and often provides advertorials to different solution providers.
Some Notable Articles:
The Society for Human Resources Management hosts a blog with many contributors. The quality of the posts is somewhat variegated, and SHRM is not known to give away really free content, but many posts are worth a look.
